At the Naval Support and Experimentation Center of La Spezia, Fincantieri launched its first “DEEP” underwater drone system during a demonstration mission.
The Defense Intelligence units are already effectively using the previously donated T12 boats to patrol water areas and conduct special operations, including in temporarily occupied territories.
A key advantage of the new systems is their software-defined architecture, which allows scaling the platforms’ functionality and adapting them to tasks of varying complexity.
It was launched on June 14, 2022. In October-November 2023, it was transported via Russia’s inland waterways to the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg for completion.
