Seismic events can significantly affect wind turbines, foundations, offshore substations, power cables and installation vessels, creating engineering challenges beyond those addressed by conventional wind and wave design approaches.
The vessels will be built at the Dajin Heavy Industries shipyard in China based on a design by Groot Ship Design and incorporating a predominantly European makerslist.
Engie and Centrica have signed 15-year power purchase agreements for electricity from the 950MW Moray East offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland.
