SolarDuck and the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) have been awarded a €3.2 million subsidy from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) for the Steady Seas research programme.
The project forms part of the Philippines' broader effort to expand renewable energy generation and increase the share of renewables in the country's power mix to 35% by 2030 and 50% by 2040.
Swedish company Candela thinks that its electric boats can help fight "moto ondoso" -- the damaging phenomenon of waves bashing against the buildings and sidewalks from the wakes of boats being driven around the city.
